A national Oil Operating company is looking for a competent national Medical Officer to work at the company field located at West Kordofan State under the below mentioned specifications:
Position Title: Field Medical Officer (2 positions)
Location: Company Field. at West Kordofan.
Section: Health, Safety & Environment (HSE),
Develops and implements aI comprehensive health and hygiene management program to ensure the health, hygiene and welfare of employees. Ensures high levels of emergency response preparedness in all areas of the Company’s operations and keeps the Company’s management informed of medical events and trends, particularly regionally and their potential on the Company and its workforce.
Provides medical services to employees and contractors in accordance with the Company’s Health Management System (HSEMS) and preventive medicine programs. Provides first line medical diagnosis and initial treatment and provides referrals to other contracted or Government hospitals and clinics. Coordinates pre-employment and post-employment examinations, and conducts health and hygiene reviews in all areas of the Company’s operations.
Conducts health risk assessment studies, audits and reviews to identify and eliminate occupational health risks in accordance with the Company’s policies and Government regulations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
a. Examines patients and treat (staff, contractors, locals) using medical instrument and equipment and collects information, regulations related to industrial hygiene and local disease in activities for staff health management.
b. Administers or prescribes treatments and drugs. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases.
C Sets up and updates staff health file and establish the medical treatment records towards company, contracts and local personnel.
d. Refer patients to medical specialist or other practitioner for specialized treatment.
e. Supervise the ambulance operation, manage and update the necessary equipment and medication.
f. Inspects accommodation facilities regarding sanitation and elimination of health hazards for disease prevention.
g. Conducts emergency medical care and preparation of patient for MEDVAC.
h. Conducts the first aid training and general health awareness promotion in field.
i. Ensure that all medical and health related activities comply with applicable company policy and industry legislation. Carry out whatever HSE improvement, any work related to HSE Section or Company HSE concerns directed by the CMO (company medical officer) and HSE Section Head.
j. records, organizes, stores and re-supply of the Clinic’s consumable drugs as well as disposes as per disposing procedures.
Prepares the weekly, monthly and annual reports of the clinic.
Position Minimum Requirements:
a. Appropriate medical qualification equivalent to MBBS degree medicine.
b. 5 years’ medical experience, must be including 2 years spent in an industrial occupational health environment.
C. Registration in Sudan Medical Council.
d. Age limit 45 years and below.
- Demonstrated ability to work with local communities.
- BLS (basic life support certificate) & ALS (advanced life support certificate).
- Proven desire to work as a team member.
- Good knowledge of English language.
- Good computer knowledge and skills.
